When the patient rings a second time, it may already be too late. That’s why hospitals need highly reliable management systems that can escalate critical alarms when nursing staff are busy with other important tasks. Such applications are the domain of alarm, information and communication management specialist tetronik. MicroSys has now been commissioned to support the in-house carrier board and system designers in the development of the next generation of alarm servers. Solutions from tektronik are primarily used in hospitals, the energy industry and other critical infrastructures, as well as in the manufacturing industry.
The new alarm management platform features a scalable and modular edge server hardware architecture that is based on MicroSys miriac® System-on-Modules with Arm® Cortex® A72 based NXP® Layerscape® processors.
tetronik has chosen MicroSys as its System-on-Module supplier and engineering partner because MicroSys provides the computing core as an application ready solution platform. System-on-Modules also offer high long-term availability, which secures tetronik’s NRE costs (non-recurring engineering costs) for the long term. Another important aspect for tetronik were our core competencies as an NXP® Gold Partner around the Arm® Cortex® based NXP® Layerscape® processor platforms. They are an optimal complement to the know-how of the in-house development team. The result is a sustainable partnership that combines high-tech expertise on both sides, which is essential for the manufacture of high-quality products with the “Made in Germany” seal.
The new alarm server platform is already the third generation of DAKS communication platforms to be equipped with MicroSys miriac® System-on-Modules. MicroSys would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank tetronik for placing their trust in us again. The new platform will offer some highly innovative new features, especially with regards to security. Users of alarm systems should therefore make sure to follow tetronik so as not to miss the official launch.
